Our value

How we add value to every project

Successful projects are shaped by the decisions made before problems arise. Our team brings foresight, discipline and practical construction experience to each stage of delivery.

Proactive project management

We look ahead rather than react. Through structured look-ahead planning, early risk identification and regular coordination with contractors and consultants, we resolve issues before they affect cost, schedule or quality.

Safety leadership

Safety is planned into every phase of the work. We review contractor safety programs, coordinate site-specific safety plans, conduct regular site inspections and uphold the highest standards of workplace health and safety.

Strategic procurement

The right procurement strategy protects both budget and schedule. We advise on delivery models, prepare clear and competitive tender packages, and lead fair, transparent evaluation and award processes.

Cost certainty

From early cost planning to final account, we maintain rigorous control of project budgets, scrutinize change orders and progress claims, and provide reliable forecasts that support informed decision-making.

Schedule assurance

We develop realistic schedules, monitor critical activities closely and work with all parties to recover lost time, keeping projects on track toward their key milestones.

Quality and compliance

We confirm that the work meets contract requirements, applicable codes and regulatory obligations, supported by documented inspections, nonconformance management and thorough closeout.

Our approach

A disciplined delivery framework

Every engagement moves through four phases, each with defined deliverables and a clear outcome for the owner. Select a phase to see what we provide.

    Frequently asked questions

    Working with Dùn

Answers to the questions owners most often ask before engaging a construction manager.

    Ask us something else

What does a construction manager provide to an owner?

A construction manager represents the owner through design, procurement and construction. Typical responsibilities include planning, procurement, contract administration, management of requests for information and change orders, review of progress claims, site coordination, cost and schedule control, and project closeout. Dùn can be engaged as construction manager for services under CCDC 5A or as the owner's representative.

At what stage should Dùn be engaged?

We recommend engaging us as early as possible. The greatest value is typically realized during preconstruction, when we can help establish realistic budgets, select an appropriate delivery model and prepare tender documents that reduce the risk of change. We also support projects already underway that would benefit from additional oversight.

    How does Dùn approach procurement?

We begin by understanding the owner's priorities for cost, schedule, risk and quality, then recommend a delivery model and procurement approach to suit. We prepare clear tender documents, manage the bidding process and lead a fair, well-documented evaluation so that contracts are awarded to capable partners on balanced terms.

How do you manage project risk?

Risk is identified at the outset, recorded in a project risk register and reviewed regularly with the project team. Our proactive approach to planning, coordination and site oversight allows emerging issues to be addressed early, before they affect cost, schedule or safety.

    Does Dùn perform construction work?

No. Dùn provides construction management and advisory services only. Because we do not bid on or perform construction, our advice remains independent and aligned with our clients' interests.

Can Dùn act as prime contractor?

Yes, where this is agreed in writing and appropriately resourced. Under section 118 of the Workers Compensation Act, the prime contractor coordinates health and safety at a multiple-employer workplace. We will discuss the most suitable arrangement for your site at the outset of the engagement.

    Which regions do you serve?

We are headquartered in Langley and serve clients throughout the Lower Mainland, the Fraser Valley and the rest of British Columbia, as well as in Alberta.
